Our Breeding Program

Aaron Family Livestock is building a registered Angus herd one mating at a time, using selected females, proven sires and embryo opportunities that fit our family program.

Direct Answer

What Is the AFL Breeding Program?

Aaron Family Livestock is building a registered Angus breeding program around selected females, proven sire lines and targeted embryo matings. Each decision is made with the same goal: cattle that can work for families, compete in the ring and add long-term value to the herd.

Selected Sires

The current program includes Circle S Moxy 406 and influence from Silveiras Style 9303, selected to add proven show-ring and maternal value.

2027 Embryo Calves

Aaron Family Livestock purchased Circle S 5707 × Colburn Primo 5153 embryos from Circle S Farms. The first calves are due in early 2027.

Foundation Females

The cow herd includes an El Jefe influence and a registered Phat Amy daughter by Silveiras Style 9303, AFL's first registered Angus female.

How We Choose

More Than a Famous Name

A sire's record matters, but the mating still has to make sense for the female. AFL studies pedigree, performance information, maternal strength and phenotype before deciding how a sire fits the herd.

  • PedigreeHow the sire and female families complement one another.
  • Maternal ValueThe long-term usefulness of daughters retained in the herd.
  • Show-Ring FunctionBalance, structure and presence suited to competitive families.
